Terms

Terms of use.

The plain-English terms for using this site, and an honest description of what coaching is and what it isn't.

The short version

This page covers using this website. The coaching itself is governed by the letter of agreement we write and both sign before we start — that document, not this page, sets out your goals, our rhythm, and what each of us is committing to.

What coaching is, and what it isn't

Coaching is a partnership. In the International Coaching Federation's words, it's “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential”. I ask questions, I listen, and I help you find your own answers and turn them into steps.

It is not therapy, counselling, psychological or medical treatment, and it isn't financial or legal advice. I'm not a substitute for any of those, and I'll say so plainly if I think one of them would serve you better.

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a medical professional or an emergency service rather than waiting for a session. In South Africa, the SADAG helpline is 0800 567 567.

Results

I'll bring everything I have to our work, but I can't promise a particular outcome. What you get out of coaching depends on what you bring to it and what you do between sessions. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of any specific result.

Booking, rates and payment

The discovery call is free and comes with no obligation on either side. Package prices are shown on the packages page. The reduced rates there are for the season while I'm gaining my ICF experience hours; they will rise once I'm certified, but the rate you start on holds for the length of your package.

You can pay upfront, monthly, or on a plan we agree together. If the cost is what's stopping you, say so — I would rather find a way, including a skill trade, than have price be the reason you don't start.

If you need to move a session, tell me as early as you can and we'll find another time; I'd rather be flexible than rigid, as long as we're talking. How cancellations, missed sessions and any refunds are handled is set out in the letter of agreement, so we both know where we stand before we begin.

What's on this site

The writing, photographs and design here belong to Now What Coaching. You're welcome to read, quote briefly with credit, and share a link. Please don't copy sections wholesale or reuse the photographs without asking me first.

The four cards about how the brain handles change summarise published research, and each one names its sources. They're there to explain my approach, not to serve as scientific or medical advice.

Where I link to other sites, such as the International Coaching Federation, I don't control what's on them and can't answer for them.

The site itself

I keep this site accurate and available as best I can, but I can't promise it will never be down or never contain a mistake. If you spot something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.

Law, and getting hold of me

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. If anything here is unclear, or you disagree with something in it, send me a message or write to kirsty@nowwhatcoach.com — I'd rather talk it through than have you agree to something you're unsure about.
